Exhibition of Capitals of Islamic Culture closes at National Museum in Riyadh

Riyadh, 18 Sha'ban,1437 AH, 25 May,2016 , SPA -- The Exhibition of the Capitals of First Islamic Culture" organized by Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage in collaboration with German Pergamon Museum for a period of three months at the National Museum in Riyadh, attracted about 40,000 visitors. The exhibition which concluded on the 5th of the current month of Shaaban allowed access to visitors on the deep civilization and culture of a number of Islamic Capitals , especially the opportunity it gave insight into the era of the Umayyad and the first Abbasid, whereas the contents of the exhibition confirmed their prosperity and cultural richness. The Director General of the National Museum Jamal Omar said that in preparation for the return of artifacts to Pergamon Museum's headquarters in Berlin, Germany, the National Museum has managed to end the transfer procedures in cooperation with the German team at Pergamon Museum and a number of the National Museum officials in accordance with the procedures and strict controls to ensure the safety of the pieces during the transport trip to Pergamon, confirming the readiness of the National Museum and its readiness to host more like exhibitions and events. It is noteworthy that Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage inaugurated the exhibition "the Capitals of First Islamic Culture" on 26 Rabi II, 1437 AH.
