Riyadh, November 08, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the plans of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to develop the sports sector are continuous and at an accelerated pace, whereas the Saudi vision 2030 gave great attention to sports and the importance of practicing it. The Kingdom's vision targets to increase the number of sports practitioners to one million Saudi athletes by 2030. The newspaper added that the development plans of Saudi sports began by addressing the weakness in the sector, supporting sport clubs, increasing sports facilities and Saudi women participation, in addition to inviting the private sector to invest in the sports sector. Today, Saudi Arabia took a new and qualitative step, with direct support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and to host "Formula 1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix" in Jeddah next November, 2021. The newspaper concluded that hosting Formula 1 goes beyond supporting the sports sector, as extends to support other sectors, including the tourism sector and recreational and cultural activities that will flourish during hosting the event in Jeddah, which is what Saudi Vision 2030 is keen on to strengthen the Saudi economic system with new investment sectors. Hosting Formula 1 includes an important message that Saudi Arabia’s leadership is keen to ensure that Saudi citizen is a part of the most important sporting events and international activities. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that Saudi Arabia's approach from the era of the late founder until this auspicious era under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince is to provide aid, support, and care to people who suffer from crises to ensure that they overcome humanitarian crises. The newspaper added that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud directives to deliver urgent humanitarian medical and shelter aid, by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), to the people of Turkey affected by the earthquake that hit the Aegean sea causing severe damage to the Turkish state of Izmir. It is an extension of the humanitarian role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as it took place in the Republic of Sudan to support people affected by torrential rains and flooding, and victims of Beirut's Port Explosion, Lebanon, the newspaper further added.
