Saudi Press: Umrah Resumed Gradually amid Precautionary Measures

Riyadh, October 05, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad and Al-Yaum newspapers reported in their editorials that thousands of citizens and residents have started performing Umrah rituals since yesterday after the royal approval was issued. The papers pointed out that the royal approval allowed performance of Umrah, enter the Grand Mosque and visit the prophet mosque, gradually, according to specified measuring and rates. The papers stressed that the regulations of performing Umrah reflects the utmost concern of Saudi government for the health and safety of citizens, residents, and pilgrims. The papers concluded by emphasizing that the level of preventive preparations of the care of the Two Holy Mosques confirms Saudi Arabia's permanent dedication to its great responsibilities that it was honored to serve Islam and Muslims. Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is moving forward with development strategy and all necessary tools for economic and social construction. The paper said that localization of jobs has contributed greatly to increase the engagement of Saudi women into labor market, in addition to providing them with suitable jobs, especially in light of the education and qualification outcomes that have also made great progress in the past few years. The paper pointed to the statement of Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, who is praised the progress achieved by Saudi Arabia in terms of employing women, especially since the past two years which marked a significant increase in the percentage of Saudi women employment.
