4th Scientific Session of 2nd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum Discusses Women, Children and People With Special Needs In Crisis and The Humanitarian Work Challenges

Riyadh, March 02, 2020, SPA -- Within the activities of the 2nd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum, the 4th scientific session titled "Women, Children and People With Special Needs In Crisis and The Humanitarian Work Challenges" was held. The sessions was held with the participation of Minister of Labour and Social Development of Sudan Lena Mahgoub; Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF Dr. Rima Salah; Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Cares Dr. Tariq Al-Gurg; Former Advisor to the US President Frances Townsend; Director of Community Support Department at the KSrelief Dr. Amal Al-Habdan; and Secretary-General of Medical Women’s International Association Dr. Padmini Murthy. During the session, the participants said that there are 250 million children under the age of five working in the conflict areas and facing poverty, abuse and recruitment. They pointed out that 5 million pregnant women, 22 million newborn children, 33 million caregivers and 57 million children under the age of five are in the conflict areas.
