Amman, Sha'ban 14, 1439, Apr 30, 2018, SPA -- The 3rd meeting of the Saudi-Jordanian committee on handling transfer of those sentenced to deprivation of freedom (custodial sanctions) to their countries, began here today. At the outset of the three-day session, Jordanian Minister of Justice Awad Abujarad said: "These meetings fall within the framework of the Jordanian-Saudi cooperation, in the legal and judicial fields, strengthening of relations between the two brotherly countries and consolidate friendship and partnership between the two peoples". He added that the meetings, led by the Saudi security advisor at the Ministry of the Interior Mansour bin Abdullah Al-Rashoud on the Saudi side, will review the most important points of legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries, especially in regard to the transfer of those sentenced to deprivation of freedom. Continuation of direct cooperation and coordination between the two sides, he stressed, according to the Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, co-signed by the two countries, will be on track to achieve the optimal application of the provisions of the accord. -- SPA 19:40 LOCAL TIME 16:40 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w679926
