KSrelief, WHO, UNICEF Co-sign Anti-Cholera Pandemic, Vaccines' Provision Project, in Yemen

Riyadh, Rajab 23, 1439, Apr 9, 2018, SPA -- In line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, to earmark $66.7 million to combat Cholera outbreak in Yemen, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UNICEF, King Salman Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) co-signed accords with the two UN agencies, in this regard. The accords were co-signed by the Advisor-Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, who said that the projects, in addition to Cholera combat include rehabilitation of household reservoirs, providing drinkable water, providing purifying Chlorine, rehabilitation of water supply pipelines, building and rehabilitating lavatories and getting rid of solid wastes. They also include vaccinating under five-age children, a project that would benefit as much as over 1,140, 000 kids, in addition to provide Yemen with various vaccines to combat Polio, Measles, Mumps, Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Meningitis, Pandemic Hepatitis B, Diphtheria and furthermore training of 2,000 health workers, conducting over 600 household visits and distribution of about one million press release to raise sanitation and public hygiene awareness, in Yemen, in order to mitigate the suffering of the affected. -- SPA 20:19 LOCAL TIME 17:19 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w663507
