Umluj, Safar 7, 1439, Oct 27, 2017, SPA -- Maritime patrols of the border guards sector of Umluj, in Tabuk Region, have foiled on Thursday an attempt to smuggle nearly 1 million Amphetamine tablets (Captagon), as the maritime patrols manage on Thursday, in thwarting the process of receiving a large quantity of Amphetamine tablets through the sea, following information was received about suspected plastic pipes, a small part of which appears on the surface of the sea and is attached to a coral reef of the islands, near the sector patrol operation zone. It was confirmed that the site was immediately surrounded and assigned to support naval patrols and divers teams combing and intensifying the search; which resulted in the finding of four plastic pipes closed on both sides; it emerged from the recovered and searched containing a total of 907 bags containing more than 907 thousand tablets of Amphetamine (Captagon). The guards sector pointed out that the seizures were referred to the competent authorities to complete applicable legal procedures, noting the efforts of the border guards, who will continue to confront the attempts of smuggling across the border, despite the multiplicity of methods and tricks of the smugglers and the men of this security sector will continue to protect the citizens from this scourge. -- SPA 22:24 LOCAL TIME 19:24 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w522208
