"The bomber sped his car through checkpoints near the presidential palace and detonated the bomb," said another Somali security official who asked to remain unnamed. At least five people, including two security forces personnel and three civilians, were killed in the attack, and several others wounded, according to initial reports by police and witnesses. Witnesses said the road was busy with vehicles at the time of the explosion.
