Moscow, Rabi'I 10, 1437, December 21, 2015, SPA -- At least five people were killed after two gas explosions ripped open a block of flats in the city of Volgograd on Sunday, officials said, according to dpa. The death toll could rise with 10 to 15 people believed to be buried under the rubble, authorities said. At least 10 others were injured and being treated in hospital. The first explosion ripped the external wall from the building across all eight floors, according to the civil defence agency. A second explosion hit while rescue teams and fire safety officers were inside. Authorities believed the incident was an accident or the result of careless use of gas and were quick to rule out a terrorist attack. It took the fire department several hours to extinguish the flames in the building some 1,000 kilometres south-east of Moscow. --SPA 02:30 LOCAL TIME 23:30 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
