Qatari FM Demands UN Security Council to Force Israeli Occupation, to Stop Building Settlements

Paris, Rabi'II 17, 1438, Jan 15, 2017, SPA -- Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani called on the international community, once again, to compel the Israeli occupation to implement the terms of international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative, which includes establishment of a Palestinian state with its capital, in East Jerusalem, stressing the need to solve the Palestinian refugee issue, and called the UN Security Council for forcing the Israeli occupation to stop the construction of colonial settlements, in the occupied Palestinian territories, immediately. Addressing the international conference held, at minister of foreign affairs' level, dedicated for the peace process, in the Middle East, he expressed regret towards the unwillingness of the Israeli occupation to meet the requirements and basis of peace, noting that it puts on the way of this process obstacle after the other, through continued aggression against the people Palestinian. Peace must be based on a just, comprehensive and lasting settlement, which requires the international community, more than ever to take practical measures to ensure compliance of the Israeli occupation of the will of the international community, in the implementation of international legitimacy, principles of international law and UN relevant resolutions, in addition to Madrid, Oslo agreements, the Arab peace initiative and the principle of the two-state solution, stressing that all these documents constitute the terms of reference to the peace process. 20:28 LOCAL TIME 17:28 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w313081
