Kabul, Muharram 08, 1438, October 09, 2016, SPA -- Seven people were killed early Sunday after an Afghan army helicopter was shot down by Taliban militants in the northern province of Baghlan, a local official said. "The helicopter was delivering supplies to a military outpost in Tapa-e Qorghan area of Pul-e Khumri, the capital of the province," Mohammad Zarif Zarif, a provincial council member from Baghlan told dpa. The dead were four Afghan airforce members and three Afghan soldiers. However, the Afghan Ministry of Defence made no mention of the Taliban in its statement on the incident, saying that the helicopter had "caught fire due to technical issues" and crashed killing all on board. --SPA 10:46 LOCAL TIME 07:46 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
