The head of the Saudi Human Rights Commission said that his organization was embarked on following-up the implementation of a package of reforms, systems and commitments by the Kingdom as per human rights agreements. It plays control and judging roles to safeguard children human rights. He cited the Shura Council and the National Committee for Childhood as playing additional control roles in defense of children human rights. On the programs and policies to enhance the rights of children, Al-Ayban said the 10-year comprehensive national planc for childhood starting 2005 has already achieved most of its objectives, including health care and social, educational and recreational care. He confirmed the role of civil society in the field of enhancing and protecting human rights and cited that the national association for Human rights issues annual statements and reports on the challenges facing the country in human rights field, including the rights of children while a number of charities manage to provide support for orphans, crippled and disabled, victims of violence and human trading children. He said as many as 882 private organizations are interested in human rights, including children rights, receiving nearly SR2324523336 from the ministry of labor and social development.
