Tunis, Dhu-AlQa'dah 24, 1437, Aug 27, 2016, SPA -- Tunisia's new national unity government won a confidence vote late on Friday, dpa reported. The government won the vote by 167-22, with five abstentions, after a day of debate on major policies presented by new Prime Minister Youssef Chahed. Chahed announced the nominees for the new government on August 20. Chahed, a former development minister, presented the proposed line-up to President Beji Caid Essebsi, who in June called for the formation of a national unity government that will be tasked with rejuvenating the country's economy. The proposed cabinet includes 26 ministers and 14 junior ministers from several political parties and independents. --SPA 10:42 LOCAL TIME 07:42 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
