Nairobi, Dhu-AlQa'dah 18, 1437, August 21, 2016, SPA -- Former Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki was flown on Sunday to South Africa for medical treatment, Standard newspaper and other local media reported, according to dpa. The 84-year-old was rushed to hospital on Saturday night after he developed complications reportedly linked to an accident more than a decade back. In a 2002 car accident, Kibaki suffered neck injuries and a fractured ankle during a campaign rally. He was sworn in as president in January 2003 while still in a wheelchair, and served until 2013. --SPA 22:16 LOCAL TIME 19:16 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
