New York, Dhu-AlQa'dah 14, 1437, August 17, 2016, SPA -- UN humanitarian affairs chief Stephen O'Brien released 50 million dollars Tuesday from the UN's central emergency fund to provide assistance to 2 million people in need of aid in six conflict-affected countries where international relief has been underfunded, according to dpa. Some 37 million dollars of the emergency spending will go to aid operations in African countries, including the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea and Rwanda. The remaining 13 million dollars will go toward relief operations in Yemen. The money will provide food, health services, sanitation and emergency shelter in those countries, including for 200,000 refugees and 665,000 internally displaced people. --SPA 01:16 LOCAL TIME 22:16 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
