Kingdom of Saudi Arabia donates one million dollars to UN High Commissioner for Refugees

Geneva, Safar 18, 1436, December 10, 2014, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has decided to provide one million dollars as a voluntary and unconditional donation to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in recognition of its sincere humanitarian efforts to assist refugees around the world. This came in a speech delivered by Saudi Ambassador and Kingdom's Permanent Representative to European Headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva, Faisal bin Trad, in the annual meeting of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to raise donations. He stressed the Kingdom's continuing support for the UNHCR efforts, noting that the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has provided over the past three decades more than one hundred and ten billion dollars of aid to more than 95 countries and regions around the world. --SPA 12:50 LOCAL TIME 09:50 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
