London, Sha'ban 12, 1437, May 19, 2016, SPA -- Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) held on Thursday in London a two-day joint workshop with senior officials of the news agency "Thomson Reuters." President of Saudi Press Agency Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein and a number of heads of Arab news agencies attended the event. The round table meeting held today discussed a number of topics on the agenda including the future of news agencies in the digital age, strategies to convert to digital news work and cooperation frameworks between Thomson Reuters Foundation and Arab news agencies in the field of training and editing. The meeting discussed Arab views on media's attempt to link terrorist groups with Islam in the minds of the peoples of the world by calling these groups with Arab names and terms. Officials of Thomson Reuters were willing to study Arab views on international media's use of the terms attempting to link terrorist groups with Islam. Participants in the meeting exchanged views on how to strengthen relations between Arab News Agencies and Thomson Reuters.
