Kuwait, Shaaban 6, 1436, May 24, 2015, SPA -- General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) held its first meeting here today. Following the meeting, Secretary General of FANA Dr. Fareed Ayyar said, a number of issues including training sessions in cooperation with Reuters Thomson Agency were discussed. A new program has been initiated to enable journalists to gather information. The meeting also reviewed the projected agenda of the Third Meeting of International Council of News Agencies. Also preparations for the 43rd general assembly of the Conference of FANA were reviewed. Moreover, the meeting discussed the Eleventh Meeting of the Head of Security media and modifying the agreement between (FANA) and (IANA) as well as the cooperation between Arab and international news agencies. The meeting also discussed participations for the Council of Arab Ministers of Information and the Executive Office of the Council, a report on the financial situation of FANA until May 2015, the launch of a new website of Yemen News Agency, as well as the blog issued by the French News Agency for the safety of journalists. --SPA 19:34 LOCAL TIME 16:34 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
