Manila, Rajab 15, 1437, Apr 22, 2016, SPA -- Eight people were killed and more than 60 injured Friday in two separate bus accidents in the Philippines, police said. According to dpa, six of the victims were killed when a bus fell into a metre-deep canal and rammed into a tree in Mataas na Kahoy town in Batangas province, 70 kilometres south of Manila. Senior Inspector Daniel dela Cruz, the town police chief, said 53 people were also injured in the accident. The bus was travelling along a provincial road when the bus driver warned his passengers that he had lost control of the vehicle because the brakes had failed, dele Cruz said. The victims were mostly teachers on their way to a beach outing, he added. --SPA 15:06 LOCAL TIME 12:06 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
