Ambassador Faisal Trad added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has sought wholeheartedly with its partners of the Friends of Syria during the meetings of Lausanne and London to stop the bombardment of Aleppo and push the peaceful solution in Syria, condemning the bombardment in eastern Aleppo, the killing of civilians and prevention of the humanitarian access to more than 275 thousand people in the eastern Aleppo. He also denounced the use of the scorched earth policy to push the people to flee outside the living areas and forced displacement to make demographic changes in favor of the regime. The Kingdom called upon the international community and the Human Right Council to send a clear and strong to the regime of Bashar Al-Assad to lift the unjust siege, stop aerial bombardment, allow immediate humanitarian access and provide the necessary treatment as well as work with the UN special envoy for supporting his efforts in order to reach a peaceful solution in accordance with Geneva 1 and Security Council's relevant resolutions. The Kingdom has strongly supported the call of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to the Security Council to refer the crimes against humanity committed by the Syrian regime and its allies to the International Criminal Court, calling upon the members of the Human Rights Council to vote in favor of the resolution before the Council to mandate the International Commission of Inquiry on Syria to conduct a special, comprehensive and independent investigation regarding events in Aleppo to identify all those responsible for violations of human rights and international law and in order to bring them to justice and provide a full report to the council. --SPA 14:17 LOCAL TIME 11:17 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
