Islamabad, Jumada I 09, 1437, February 18, 2016, SPA -- At least nine policemen were killed in overnight attacks by militants in Pakistan's troubled tribal region in the north-west, officials said Thursday, according to dpa. The members of the tribal Khasadar police force were targeted in two separate attacks in Mohmand, one of seven tribal districts. The militants targeted a Khasadar post during the night and killed seven people, assistant district administrator Naveed Akbar said. The rebels killed two more policemen during the night in a different part of same district. The slain men had been protecting a solar-operated well. A Taliban splinter group called Jamaatul Ahrar claimed responsibility for both attacks. --SPA 13:24 LOCAL TIME 10:24 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
