Vienna, Rabi II 27, 1437, February 06, 2016, SPA -- President of the Federal Republic of Austria Dr. Heinz Fischer has lauded the pioneering role of Vienna-based King Abdullah International Center for Dialogue Among Followers of Religions in its capacity as an international platform which has for the first time played host for leading personalities including political decision-makers in the constituting countries of the United Nations. In remarks during a recent visit to the center, to mark the first week for reconciliation during which he also delivered a lecture titled Ideas on the international dialogue among cultures and followers of religions , he underscored the importance of dialogue and the center s important role in searching for real chances among people to find better understanding among religions and cultures. He said the center contributes to the service of human rights and provides a chance to promote the joint interests and enhance respect among followers of religions and cultures through dialogue. He described the center as an international partner of dialogue aiming at spreading the culture of tolerance and co-existence. He called for expanding the dialogue activities, noting that the current re-organization process at the center is expected to attract new members to its Parties Council to conduce to a geographic, religious, and cultural balance of membership, expressing personal support for the idea.
