Manila, Rabi'II 21, 1437, January 31, 2016, SPA -- Five people were killed Sunday when a wayward fuel tanker slammed into houses along a highway in the eastern Philippines and exploded, police said, according to dpa. The tanker was negotiating a curved portion of the highway in Pinabacdao town, 560 kilometres south-east of Manila, when the driver lost control of the steering wheel, said Chief Inspector Maria Bella Rentuaya, a regional police spokeswoman. "The truck swerved to the side of the road, hitting three houses and causing an explosion," she said. The victims, who were burned to death, were a couple and their 6-month-old daughter, as well as the driver and another person inside the tanker, Rentuaya said. --SPA 13:12 LOCAL TIME 10:12 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
