IIRC issues report on its relief achievements in last 7 years

Jeddah, Safar 23, 1437, Dec 5, 2015, SPA -- The International Islamic Relief Commission (IIRC), an affiliate of Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), has implemented 22 medical campaigns to combat blindness among the poor and the needy in 17 countries in Asia and Africa over the last seven years, it was reported here today. In a statement to highlight the organization's relief achievements in last 7 years, Ihsan bin Saleh Tayeb, Secretary General of IIRC, said among these operations, 10633 were performed to remove white water from ailing eyes, 1887 to implant lens and 9000 medical glasses were distributed over some short-sight patients. Countries benefiting from the organization's efforts were Sri Lanka, The Maldives, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Chad, Eretria, Tanzania, The Sudan, Ghana, Somalia, Morocco, Mauritania, The Comoro Islands, Cameron and Zimbabwe. --SPA 11:55 LOCAL TIME 08:55 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
