United Nations, Muharram 30, 1437, November 12, 2015, SPA -- The U.N. Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Wednesday condemned the “senseless murders” by insurgents of seven civilians in the southern province of Zabul. “The deliberate murder of civilian hostages including women and children, is particularly abhorrent” UNAMA chief Nicholas Haysom said in a statement. “These senseless murders may amount to war crimes, and the perpetrators must be held accountable.” The seven civilians—including two women and three children—were abducted last month and executed over three days last week in Arghandab district while armed clashes were reported there between two rival groups of anti-government insurgents. --SPA 11:17 LOCAL TIME 08:17 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
