Washington, Muharram 28, 1437, November 10, 2015, SPA -- US President Barack Obama will attend the international climate talks in Paris on November 30 and December 1, the White House confirmed Monday, dpa reported. Obama has said US leadership is crucial in securing a new climate agreement that for the first time will include carbon emission reductions by developing countries. In a video on his Facebook page, Obama said US leadership had resulted in 150 countries agreeing "we need to come together to create that international frame work" in Paris. "I want to make sure that the whole world is able to pass onto future generations the God-given beauty of this planet," he said. The US hopes to secure commitments from all participating countries, put in place a long-term framework and mobilize support for the poorest and most vulnerable countries, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said. Representatives of nearly 200 countries intend to make the final push in Paris, with the goal of stopping the average global temperature from rising more than 2 degrees centigrade over pre-industrial times, in order to avoid catastrophic loss of human life from rising sea levels and severe weather. Earth's temperature is currently on course to rise at least 4 degrees this century as a result of increasing amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. --SPA 00:38 LOCAL TIME 21:38 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
