UNITED NATIONS, Muharram 24, 1437, Nov 6, 2015, SPA -- The U.N. Security Council will meet Monday to discuss Burundi as “hate speech” could exacerbate a deteriorating political situation, France said Friday. “At our demand, the U.N. Security Council will meet on Monday November 9 over the situation in Burundi,” French Foreign Ministry spokesperson Romain Nadal said while denouncing the wave of “hate speech” that threatens to inflame the central African country. Burundi has experienced months of violence triggered by President Pierre Nkurunziza’s successful bid to win a third term in office, prompting a dramatic rise in killings, arrests, and detentions. Monday’s Security Council session also will be attended by representatives of the U.N. human rights agency and members of the African Union, according to Nadal. --SPA 19:48 LOCAL TIME 16:48 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
