Mogadishu, Muharram 19, 1437, November 01, 2015, SPA -- Suicide attackers struck a popular hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu early Sunday, with 15 people killed according to an official. The fatalities included politicians and senior officials, a senior government source told dpa. The group al-Shabaab claimed responsibility. Witnesses reported explosions followed by gunfire. A dpa journalist saw five people lying on the ground. A car bomb exploded at the entrance to the Sahafi Hotel and that attackers then exchanged gunfire with the hotel's guards. A suicide bomber detonated a second set of explosives inside the hotel, the report quoted police as saying.
