Jeddah, Dhu-AlQa'dah 2, 1436, Aug 17, 2015, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, strongly condemned the suicide attack in Punjab, Pakistan, resulting in the killing of the Provincial Home Minister, Col (Rtd) Shuja Khanzada and several others, on Sunday, 16 August 2015. The Secretary General offered his sincere condolences to the bereaved families as well as the government and people of Pakistan. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured in the incident. The Secretary General expressed the hope that this senseless and cowardly attack would not weaken the resolve and commitment of the government and people of Pakistan to up-root the menace of extremism and terrorism in the country. He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the government of Pakistan in fighting terrorism. Mr. Madani reiterated OIC’s commitment to counter terrorism in pursuance of the resolutions adopted by the OIC Summits and Council of Foreign Ministers meetings.
