Lagos , Jumada II 24, 1436, April 13, 2015, SPA -- (dpa) - The party of president-elect Muhammadu Buhari is leading governorship elections in most of the 36 Nigerian states that make up Africa's biggest economy, the electoral commission announced Monday. Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a coalition of the country's main opposition parties, won the majority of votes in 21 states, with results from three other states still outstanding. The People's Democratic Party (PDP), led by outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan, won 11 states, with a candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance party winning in the remaining state.
