The meeting lauded the efforts being exerted by the OIC member states to confront international terrorism and expressed profound concern about the situation in Yemen, calling on all parties to seek the restoration of the political process without using force or violence according to the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue and the UN Security Council resolution No. 2140 in 2014. The meeting rejected the unilateral measures taken by the Houthi group to impose a status quo in Yemen, the continual house arrest of President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi and other senior officials, calling for their immediate release. The meeting also rejected the so-called constitutional statement of the Houthi coup and expressed support for the outgoing legitimate political power and its constitutional institutions. OIC also expressed solidarity with Nigeria and other Chadian lake basin countries in their fight against the terrorist organization of Boko Haram.
