WASHINGTON, Rabi'II 24, 1436, Feb. 13, 2015, SPA -- U.S. President Barack Obama Friday condemned what he called the "brutal and outrageous" murder of three young North Carolina Muslims this week. Obama said in a statement that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has opened an investigation into Tuesday's shooting deaths of Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, Deah Shaddy Barakat, and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha in Chapel Hill. Police say that Craig Hicks, who has been charged with murder, may have committed the act because of a parking dispute. Still, police say that they are looking into whether Hicks was motivated by hatred toward Muslims. "No one in the United States of America should ever be targeted because of who they are, what they look like, or how they worship," Obama said. "Michelle (Obama) and I offer our condolences to the victims' loved ones." "As we saw with the overwhelming presence at the funeral of these young Americans, we are all one American family. Whenever anyone is taken from us before their time, we remember how they lived their lives," the president said. --SPA 00:12 LOCAL TIME 21:12 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
