Boston, Rabi'I 8, 1436, Dec 30, 2014, SPA -- Two Boston police officers were hospitalized after they were attacked by six teenagers related to a person they were arresting, authorities said Tuesday. The officers went to an apartment in the city's Roxbury neighborhood on Monday morning to serve an arrest warrant on a man for defaulting on court appearances. Seven people were ultimately arrested, including the man police originally sought. Two are scheduled to be formally charged in court later Tuesday. One teenage boy and four teenage girls face charges in juvenile court of assault and battery on a police officer and other offenses. When police found the target of the arrest warrant, Woobenson Morrisset, he attacked them, according to the police report. Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told local radio that as the officers were about to handcuff Morrisset, residents of two apartments came to his aid and "kicked, punched, and choked" the officers> According to Williams, the two officers used pepper spray until other officers arrived and never drew their guns. Boston Mayor Martin Walsh emphasized the assault was not related to rising national tensions over police conduct following the killings of unarmed men in Missouri and New York City. --SPA 23:09 LOCAL TIME 20:09 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
