London, Safar 28, 1436, Dec 20, 2014, SPA -- David Silva's brace helped Manchester City go level on points with Premier League leaders Chelsea on Saturday following a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, dpa reported. Silva scored twice early in the second half and Yaya Toure added a late goal as City, playing without a recognised striker due to injury, won their sixth straight league game. The defending champions are on 39 points with Chelsea, who play at Stoke on Monday, holding the top spot on goal difference. "It was a fantastic performance with no strikers," goalkeeper Joe Hart told BT Sport. "Were in a situation at the moment but we've not complained about it. We changed our system and we won 3-0." With Sergio Aguero, Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko injured, a frustrated City had 69 per cent possession in the opening half but little to show as none of their eight attempts hit the target. The closest they came was just before the break when Toure threaded a pass into the area for right back Pablo Zabaleta, whose attempted scoop over goalkeeper Julian Speroni went wide of the far post. A bit of fortune helped City finally break through four minutes after the restart. Zabaleta once again was sent into the area and cut a ball back for Silva, whose shot deflected off Scott Dann and looped over Speroni. The Spanish midfielder then doubled the lead when he swept in a cross from Aleksandar Kolarov. -- SPA 20:28 LOCAL TIME 17:28 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
