Rome, Safar 03, 1436, November 25, 2014, SPA -- The Italian doctor who tested positive for the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone was taken home by a military plane Tuesday and hospitalized in a special care unit in Rome, dpa reported. The man, whose identity is being protected, was said to be in his 50s and hailing from Sicily. He arrived in Sierra Leone in mid-October, to work for Emergency, an Italian medical charity. He fell ill on Sunday. The Spallanzani hospital, where the patient was taken, was expected to issue the first bulletin about his condition at 12.30 (1130 GMT). "The situation is under control," Health Minister Beatrice Lorenzin told the Il Messaggero newspaper, saying that since the Ebola case was detected early, there were good chances of recovery for the doctor. She ruled out the possibility of any further cases on Italian soil. --SPA 13:32 LOCAL TIME 10:32 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
