Geneva, Dhu-AlHijjah 1, 1435, Sep 25, 2014, SPA -- Ambassador Faisal bin Hassan bin Terad, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva and other international organizations, provided today a draft resolution for a condemnation of the human rights violations in Syria. In his speech, ambassador Faisal Terad said that "based on our keenness of protecting the Syrian people, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with participation of Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Morocco are to provide to the council a resolution titled "Continuation of Serious Deterioration of Human Rights and Humanitarian Situation in the Arab Republic of Syria". "We listened recently a report of the Human Rights Council on the usage of the chemical weapons by the Syrian regime against the Syrian people. These violations reflect atrocity of human rights crimes carried out by the Syrian regime and supported by armed foreign militias. More than 190,000 Syrians are killed and more than half of the Syrian people are displaced. The Syrian regime provide all facilities for supporting the terrorist groups, including Victory Front and Daash. These terrorist groups' danger reached to neighboring countries," Faisal Terad said. "I hope all the council's members to support this balanced resolution and put an end of the humanitarian suffering in Syria," he concluded. --SPA 21:11 LOCAL TIME 18:11 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
