Bujumbura, Muharram 1, 1437, Oct 14, 2015, SPA -- At least seven civilians and one police officer have been killed in clashes in the Burundian capital Bujumbura, dpa quoted a police spokesman as saing on Wednesday. Police had been staging an operation on Tuesday to free three kidnapped police officers, when one of the kidnappers and one of the abducted police officers were killed in crossfire, Pierre Nkurikiye told a press conference. In addition, a cameraman for the national broadcaster, his wife and two children were killed by stray bullets, according to Nkurikiye. The bodies of two as-yet-unidentified civilians were also discovered on Wednesday morning.
