UNITED NATIONS, Safar 19, 1436, Dec. 11, 2014, SPA -- The U.N.’s Ebola chief said Thursday that it will take several more months before the outbreak in West Africa is under control. The World Health Organization (WHO) said in September that it wanted to have 100 percent of Ebola cases isolated by January 1. But it conceded this month that it did not fully meet an interim target, which still has not made clear what that means for the January goal. Dr. David Nabarro said Thursday that there has been “a massive shift” over the last four months in the way governments have taken the lead in responding to the epidemic and communities are taking action. But Nabarro said that greater efforts are still needed to control the virus in hard-hit Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea. --SPA 14:38 LOCAL TIME 11:38 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
