Saudi Arabia Participates in World Telecommunication Development Conference in Rwanda

Riyadh, June 07, 2022, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Communications and Information Technology Commission, has participated in the World Telecommunication Development Conference currently held in the Rwandan capital Kigali, in its capacity as deputy chair of the conference and representative of the Arab region. The conference is held in the presence of Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Houlin Zhao and the participation of delegations from 193 countries of ITU members and international organizations in the sector. CITC Governor Dr. Mohmmed Al-Tamimi headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the conference that was held under the theme “Connecting the unconnected to achieve sustainable development”. Saudi Arabia’s delegation comprising various national institutions specialized in development and communications contributed to workshops and meetings held on the sidelines of the event, which enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s endeavors and goals in supporting prosperity and growth in the communications and digital transformation fields and providing all necessary potential for the progress and prosperity of humanity. The conference, held periodically every four years, aims to create new ways and cooperation models, enhance and spread digital solutions, realize the Sustainable Development Goals, and identify future strategies and goals for the sector.
