Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources receives Mauritanian Minister of Trade, Handicrafts and Tourism

Riyadh, Feb. 21, 2022, SPA -- The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef received today the Mauritanian Minister of Trade, Handicrafts and Tourism Al-Naha bint Hamdi Ould Meknes, within the framework of the economic partnership between the Kingdom and countries with promising economic activity. The meeting addressed ways of opening new horizons of cooperation in the field of food industries and mining, given that Mauritania is one of the most important iron ore producers in Africa, and is a strategic resource for the steel industry in Europe as well as the availability of several mineral resources such as gold ore, copper, iron and uranium. During the meeting, they discussed ways of cooperation in the sectors of geological survey and mineral exploration in general, including the exchange of information and experiences in the fields of earth sciences, and the subsequent discussion on the latest technologies used in the field of mineral exploration and treatment.
