Riyadh, December 27, 2022, SPA -- President of the Human Rights Commission and President of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed the second phase agreement of a project to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in protecting human trafficking victims, in a bid to unify Saudi Arabia’s efforts to respond to these crimes through a comprehensive government and societal approach. The agreement includes a joint mechanism to support victims in a way that guarantees their rehabilitation and integration. Dr. Al-Tuwaijri said that the agreement is part of the Kingdom's efforts to strengthen the fight against human trafficking and boost ways of preventing and protecting victims through national and international cooperation, which is an essential part to combat this crime, noting that the efforts to combat human trafficking crimes, outlined in the national action plan of the committee, reflect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to protecting victims.
