Ankara, December 27, 2022, SPA -- Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh has held a bilateral meeting with Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly Dr. Mustafa Sentop at the headquarters of the parliament in Ankara, during his official visit to Türkiye along with a delegation from the Shura Council upon an official invitation he received. The meeting covered a variety of topics of relevance to both countries, particularly with reference to parliamentary collaboration between the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the Shura Council. Then, the Speaker of the Shura Council held a session of official talks with the Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly in the presence of several members of the two institutions. For his part, the Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly referred to the strong historical cultural relations and ties that the Türkiye enjoys with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the significance of the Speaker of the Shura Council's visit in elevating bilateral relations to new horizons, while stressing that relations between the two countries and their coordination benefit the region and the entire world. He underscored his country's support for Riyadh hosting Expo 2030, while praising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's environmental efforts. He also hailed the Kingdom Vision 2030 and its giant projects, as well as the Kingdom's tremendous achievement in administering the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and its great success in serving pilgrims and Umrah performers from all over the world. For his part, the Speaker of the Shura Council commended the great support that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Türkiye are witnessing from the leaderships of the two countries, referring to the importance of cooperation between the two countries in order to enhance bilateral relations, achieve their common interests and fulfill the aspirations of the leaders of the two countries and their brotherly peoples. He also stressed the need to continuously communicate and hold parliamentary meetings between the Shura Council and Turkish Grand National Assembly, and to increase coordination between them in various international and regional forums, in order to support relations between the two countries. During the session, discussions went over ways of strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two institutions and discussed several issues in various areas of mutual interest to the two countries.
