Seventh Meeting of Arab Tourism Technical Committee Convenes under Saudi Arabia’s Presidency

Cairo, Oct. 10, 2021, SPA -- The seventh meeting of the Arab Tourism Technical Committee started at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo today under the presidency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's International Cooperation Specialist of the Ministry of Tourism Nayef Al-Mutairi. Following the meeting, Director of the Department of Transport and Tourism at the Arab League Dr. Dina Al-Thaher noted, in a statement, that the two-day meeting will be discussing several subjects, including a training program for human personnel in tourism sectors of Arab countries, a proposal to hold an Arab-Chinese tourist ministerial conference, and establishing an Arab-Chinese cooperation mechanism to prepare a draft comprehensive memorandum of understanding between the Arab Ministerial Council of Tourism and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, to act as a foundation to prepare a final formula for the memorandum of understanding between the two sides under the regulations accredited by the Secretariat General of the Arab League. She noted that the committee is also discussing two proposals presented by the Libyan General Authority of Tourism to prepare a guidebook for the tourism of people with disabilities, and a project of the human heritage house that aims at preserving the Libyan historical and technical heritage resources in an effective and sustainable manner. Al-Thaher also pointed out that the committee will discuss three proposals presented by the Algerian Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Crafts on tourist innovation and smart tourism, supporting and enhancing pan-Arab cooperation in the tourism sector and enhancing confidence of consumers – Arab tourists, adding that the committee will also go through an item on general Arab principles to unify the procedures of registration and accrediting vaccinations and their uses among Arab countries. --SPA 18:54 LOCAL TIME 15:54 GMT 0021 www.spa.gov.sa/w1633444
