Riyadh, August 15, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the general goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 are not limited to rebuilding the national economy, diversifying sources of income, achieving a cultural renaissance, and developing regulations, laws and legislation, but it rather extends and includes numerous details aiming to provide an ideal and healthy life for the citizens. Therefore, this thing has become a main goal in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s mega projects that have plans, programs and huge budgets, to achieve the envisioned goals. The “Green Riyadh Project” is one of these projects that the Saudi Vision is keen on. “Green Riyadh” is one of Riyadh’s four megaprojects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on March 19, 2019. Additionally, it is under supervision of the Committee of Grand Projects chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. The Green Riyadh Project includes planting 7.5 million trees. The newspaper further added that the Green Riyadh project contributes to shaping the future of the capital. It will make Riyadh a giant green area, distinguished by natural scenes and clean air that will improve the quality of life. This also contributes to achieving another goal. HRH the Crown Prince previously revealed vision for Riyadh. He said ‘’We are therefore aiming to make Riyadh one of the ten largest city economies in the world - today it stands at number 40, the fortieth largest city economy worldwide”. ‘’We also aim to increase its residents from 7.5 million residents today to around 15-20 million residents in 2030,” he said. Therefore, the Green Riyadh project plays an important role in this regard. The newspaper concluded that Green Riyadh will cover all the capital.
