Islamabad, December 25, 2021, SPA -- Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh has received here Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani and a number of members of the Pakistani Senate, within the current visit of the Speaker of the Shura Council and a delegation of the Shura Council to Pakistan. At the outset of the meeting, the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed the Chairman of the Pakistani Senate, stressing the depth of the relations that unite the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan at various levels and their role in achieving security and stability for the Islamic world, pointing to the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen and develop these relations in a way that contributes to achieving the common interests between the two brotherly countries and peoples. On the parliamentary level, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh pointed to the importance of deepening the joint bilateral cooperation and coordination at the level of the parliamentary work between the Shura Council and the Pakistani Senate in a way that unifies the visions in various Islamic, regional and international parliamentary forums, stressing the importance of developing the practical frameworks between the two councils to activate the good relations that bring them together. For his part, Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani highly appreciated the stances of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, being led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in supporting the government and people of Pakistan, stressing that they are remarkable stances appreciated by the Pakistani people. The Chairman of the Pakistani Senate said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is the leader of the region in return for his great contributions and constant keenness to unify the Gulf, Arab and Islamic ranks, achieve the unity of the countries of the Islamic world and support its peoples. During the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of supporting and strengthening the bilateral parliamentary cooperation between the two councils, and the necessity to develop the appropriate mechanisms to activate the role of the joint parliamentary friendship committees in a way that enhances the level of work and joint cooperation in the political, economic and investment fields.
