Riyadh, May 31, 2021, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate, with a delegation headed by President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, to launch the Riyadh initiative (GlobE Network) aimed at establishing a global operational network for information exchange between anti-corruption law enforcement authorities at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna. This launch comes at a time when the Riyadh initiative is welcomed internationally, as the political declaration of the special session of the United Nations General Assembly focused on corruption welcomed the creation of the Riyadh Initiative network called the GlobE Network. The meeting will discuss a number of issues related to the field of combating corruption, on top of these topics is the launch of the Riyadh Initiative (GlobE Network). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia worked during its presidency of the G20 in 2020 to develop and launch the initiative, which stems from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's belief in the importance of strengthening the joint efforts to combat corruption internationally. The meeting will be attended by the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Dr. Ghada Waly and Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, who is also the Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Austria. This initiative has been developed in partnership with G20 countries and related international organizations, such as INTERPOL, the Egmont Group, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The G20 leaders and anti-corruption ministers welcomed the Riyadh Initiative (GlobE Network) during the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's presidency of the G20. The President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority will deliver on this occasion the speech of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through which he will highlight the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts and its relentless endeavor to activate its international partnerships in the field of combating corruption under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). --SPA 19:00 LOCAL TIME 16:00 GMT 0023 www.spa.gov.sa/w1564556
