Jeddah, May 18, 2021, SPA – The Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in its previous press statement issued on May 9, 2021, expressed its utter rejection of the continuous heinous attacks perpetrated by Israel on the Palestinian territories, which led to the death and injury of hundreds of innocent Palestinians, including women and children, in addition to causing full destruction to the civil infrastructure. The Commission has also deplored the continuing random bombardment by Israel that purposely destructs residential buildings, schools and economic facilities, in addition to killing around 180 civilian Palestinians, including two prominent doctors, 52 children and 31 women in Gaza alone. As part of these heinous attacks, the occupation forces destroyed a tower that housed several local and foreign media outlets with the aim of obfuscating facts. The Commission also welcomed the final communique of the emergency ministerial meeting of the Organization’s Executive Committee, which was held to discuss the issue on May 16, 2021, expressing full approval of the reached outcomes, including those calling for the immediate stop of the Israeli attacks, providing humanitarian and medical assistance to save victims of the attacks, executing relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and OIC that call for ending the Israeli occupation and realizing Palestinians’ rights to self-determination, and conducting an international investigation by the International Criminal Court in the war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli government against Palestinians so that to end impunity. -- SPA 09:59 LOCAL TIME 06:59 GMT 0013 www.spa.gov.sa/w1559071
