Jeddah, Aug 13, 2020, SPA -- The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, approved today, 13 August 2020, emergency assistance for the Lebanese people. The Secretary-General stated that this emergency assistance extended through the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF), an OIC subsidiary organ, demonstrates the OIC’s solidarity with affected families and the Lebanese people, and are intended to alleviate the effects of the Beirut port blast. Al-Othaimeen commended the assistance provided by OIC member States, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Islamic Summit, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and the United Arab Emirates, Chair of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM). Al-Othaimeen said that these emergency humanitarian aids are intended to end the suffering of the Lebanese people hit by the Beirut port blast.
