OIC Committee Led by Saudi Arabia Holds Meeting with UK's Permanent Representative to UN

New York, March 12, 2020, SPA -- Mini Committee of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the membership of Turkey, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and the OIC Observer Mission to the United Nations held yesterday evening a meeting with the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations and President of the Security Council this month, Ambassador Karen Pierce. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments related to the Muslim Rohingya minority, as well as issues of Common interest. In his speech during the meeting, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mualimi valued Britain's position on the issue of the persecuted Muslim Rohingya minority in Myanmar, in addition its support for their legitimate rights, pointing to the decision has recently taken by the International Court of Justice demanding the government of Myanmar to fulfill its obligations towards providing protection for the Rohingya minority. --SPA 08:39 LOCAL TIME 05:39 GMT 0003 www.spa.gov.sa/w1286821
