Riyadh, Rajab 8, 1438, Apr 5, 2017, SPA -- The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) signed here today a cooperation agreement where the Kingdom provides $5 million to help the Syrian refugees in Jordan. The funding aims to complete construction of electrical network system at the Al-Azraq refugee camp in Jordan which includes more than 25,000 Syrian refugees. The agreement was co-signed by Eng. Yousef bin Ibrahim Al-Bassam, SFD Vice President and Managing Director, and UNHCR Regional Representative to the GCC Countries Khaled Khalifa. For his part, the UNHCR Regional Representative thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for this contribution, stressing that this support reflects the Kingdom's pioneering role in enhancing the humanitarian work in the region and the world.
